The six-member California EAR Unit, an exuberant chamber ensemble dedicated to the creation, performance and promotion of new music, is acclaimed worldwide for its adventurous musicality. For eighteen seasons EAR Unit was the Ensemble-in-Residence in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and it has just taken up residence at CalArts for performances at REDCAT at Disney Hall. As part of the LA Philharmonic’s month long celebration/retrospective of the genre of Minimalism, the California EAR Unit will perform an evening length concert of compelling acoustic music.
