“The staggering vocalists transcend the language barrier
and supply soul-shaking moments.”
—Billboard
Known for dramatic adaptations of folk singing styles and spine-chilling harmonies, punctuated by whoops and quavers, the 22-member Bulgarian State National Radio and Television Chorus is one of the premier women’s choirs worldwide. Since becoming a sensation with its first release in the West in 1987, the group has collaborated with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Tuvan throat singers. It has received two Grammy nominations and been a huge success on the world music charts.
