“The four songsters put on a terrific show with sublime poetry that traveled hard roads and sought, sometimes in vain, for love and redemption.”
—Houston Chronicle
These funny and moving singer-songwriters will turn the Arlington into a back-porch hootenanny. Grammy Award-winning Lyle Lovett is a ceaselessly creative musician, equally comfortable in pop, rock, blues and country. John Hiatt, the only non-Texan of the foursome, has had his sterling songs covered from everyone from Bob Dylan to Iggy Pop, Bonnie Raitt to Jewel. Guy Clark, a classic Texas troubadour like his buddy Townes van Zandt, is acclaimed for his country-folk standards “L.A. Freeway” and “Desperadoes Waiting for a Train.” Joe Ely, best known for his work with the Flatlanders (Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock), is a fixture of the Austin musical scene. Together the four will share the stage and play memorable tunes from their extensive catalogs that are central to American folk, country and rock music.
