Former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky joins the esteemed Takács Quartet for an enchanting evening of music and poetry centered on themes of love. This collaboration will feature Pinsky reading ten poems (including one of his own) that explore love in all its permutations and the Takács performing Janacek’s Quartet No. 2, Intimate Letters, based on the composers love for a young woman, Barber’s heartfelt Adagio and Britten’s Quartet No. 3, based on Thomas Mann’s Death in Venice.
