“CELEBRATING SARAH VAUGHAN”

Friday, February 15, 2002
8 p.m. / Arlington Theatre

“A radiant talent...at the top of her game.”
The Washington Post

Joined by her quintet and 30 members of the Santa Barbara Symphony, Grammy Award-winner Dianne Reeves uses her agile voice and rhythmic virtuosity to pay tribute to the great jazz singer Sarah Vaughan. “Reeves stays perfectly on pitch, and her notes, individually packaged like Valentine chocolates, have a perfect roundness. Like Vaughan she has the high technique that you don’t really miss in other singers until you hear her perform” (The New York Times). A Valentine’s weekend treat, indeed.

$45, 35 / UCSB Students $25 (limited availability)

Co-presented with the Santa Barbara Symphony

Sponsored by Magic 97.5, KCLU Public Radio, Prudential Realty,
and Metropolitan Theatres
