“There is subtlety of gesture in Midori’s playing, depth of emotional expression and a surprising level of pure physical power.”
The Washington Post

One of the world’s best-known violinists, Midori mesmerizes audiences with her commanding and virtuosic playing. Now in the second decade of an extraordinary international career, this Japanese-born musician has recorded extensively and performed with the most distinguished symphonic ensembles and on prestigious concert stages throughout Europe, North America and the Far East. Midori has collaborated with such eminent artists as Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Leonard Bernstein, Yo-Yo Ma, Kurt Masur, Sir Simon Rattle, Isaac Stern and Pinchas Zukerman. UCSB is proud to present her Santa Barbara debut.
