“The most powerful composer of out time...Glass is changing the face of music.”—The Daily Telegraph, London

“(Suso is) a virtuoso on the kora...an artist of great purity.”—The New York Times

Two remarkable artists join forces for a thrilling performance that unites Western and African musical traditions. Best known as the composer for the opera Einstein on the Beach and the film Koyaanisqatsi, Philip Glass has launched contemporary music in imaginative directions. Foday Musa Suso, master of the kora (21-stringed harp-lute) and eminent Gambian griot, has won international acclaim for his work with the Kronos Quartet, Herbie Hancock and other U.S. artists. Accompanied on percussion and woodwinds, these two friends will preform the score they created for Jean Genet’s play The Screens.
