“Perez shines like a luminaria in this perceptive, cohesive piece.”
—San Antonio Express-News

Rosita is back! One of the finest Chicana stage actors, Ruby Nelda Perez revives her role in this one-woman sequel to the popular Doña Rosita’s Jalapeño Kitchen presented here in 1998. In her busy kitchen on the eve of El Dia de los Muertos, our heroine dishes up spicy stories about her customers and takes us on a moving, comic journey—and a magic serape ride—toward reconciliation with her dying father. Penned and directed by Rodrigo Duarte Clark, who co-founded El Teatro de la Esperanza in Santa Barbara in 1971.
