Since the first-ever all jazz festival in Rhode Island in 1954, the name Newport Jazz® has signified superior artists and classic sounds. This one-time-only tour features today’s biggest-name musicians—trumpeters Nicholas Payton and Randy Brecker; the Nicholas Payton Quintet; pianist Cedar Walton; Red Holloway, saxophone; guitarist Howard Alden; and Joel Helleny, trombone. Celebrating 100 years of jazz, they’ll play music by greats such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie, as well as recent and original works, the potential classics of the next century.

General public: $24/$28/$32
Students: $14/$17/$20
