“Vividly real, funny, yet poignantly thoughtful,
a fully-cast, fully-rounded play.”
—London Daily Mail

Recalling her Latino showbiz parents, their flamboyant friends and her youthful longing for a “normal” family, Marga Gomez revives the colorful world of New York’s Latino nightclub circuit of the ’50s and ’60s. Despite her mantra to “never be like my mother,” Gomez discovers the bittersweet heart of family relations as her mother succumbs to Alzheimer’s. A hilarious stand-up comic, co-founder of Culture Clash and theater veteran, Gomez crafts a wise and moving account of growing up.
